I'd be up for it; I've got the wool for it! I think I will go without the eyelash yarn because Somerset has a habit of "grooming" anything furry. Just need to get some big DPNs.
BTW - does anyone have any opinions re: the types of yarn one should use for kitty toys? I have a feeling that at least a few fibres will end up in their tummies; is any specific type of fibre more problematic than others?
I'm up for a Kitty Pi KAL! Already have Brown Sheep, just awaiting the excuse to start in.
Ladylungdoc, I'd knit kitty toys big and loose then felt the bejeezus out of them-until they won't felt any more. They'll be taken away once I see signs of shredding. Hopefully that'll take a long, long time.
I'm in! I think I'll be doing the bed in SnB but we'll see. I really like the kitty pi too. Hmm..
LLD - I made a toy mouse out of plain old acrylic yarn, and my cats play with it just fine. The fiber doesn't come loose, it was knit it a fairly tight gauge, and it hasn't pilled or anything. So far, so good. But if you're asking about wool, I'd avoid the Lamb's Pride since it is kinda hairy and it's got mohair in it. That's like crack to a kitty.
allisonmariecat - I think the trick will be to put it somewhere like the kitchen table where they are not allowed to go. alternately, you could initially "line" it with a tshirt that you have worn several times - they'll associate your scent with the pi.
I doubt that will be a problem with me; Somerset is already kneading the yarn and rubbing her face against it as it sits in a basket on the floor!

Okay, count me in!
I'm just a little afraid the finished object will go like this:
Me: "Look, boys, I made a kitty bed JUST FOR YOU!"
Boys: *sniff*, *walk away*

I just got my Noro Big Kureyon in the mail for this project, so I'm ready to go :)

I'm up for it too! I'm sure I've got some yarn I can use. Where do I find the pattern btw?
