What a poser...

Well... I get to kill 2 birds with one stone on this post. A picture of my half-finished log cabin blanket, and Nix giving his approval of it :) I had lost my green yarn for a while, so I got held up. But now I am back in the swing of things. My sister-in-law is due on the 19th of September, and I'm afraid that there's no way I'll be done by then :(

By the way... that is the Kitty Pi in the background. How quickly it is abandoned for the latest piece of yarn thrown on the floor.

Ready to Spin

No yarn spinning here, Libby thought the clothes freshly washed where a perfect bed. What could be better than warm clothes cocooned in the dryer

The joys of summer

These pics to let you know that Norwegian summer can be great too! We've had the hottest summer in 105 years, and my furry princess has been hiding in the shade mostly. This is her lying under her favourite tree (Japanese mini maple). Myself, I haven't gotten much knitting done this summer, as it has been too hot to handle yarn of any kind... But I just finished the first of a pair of lace socks for myself. Pics of this can be found on my blog.

Streamlined

We were tidying up the house in preparation for guests, and were trying to lower the cat hair quotient. Since the cats love to sit on the top of the couch, the cushions needed a vacuum. I was surprised that Somerset wasn't running away from the vacuum, especially when it was right next to her. I said to DH "maybe we should save time and just vacuum the cats"

So he gave it a try:

We were quite surprised that she not only tolerated it, but seemed to like it - check out those ears; those are NOT the ears of a cat that is trying to figure out a)How can I escape? or b)What should I pee in to teach them a lesson? Nope, she was purring away happily, loud enough to hear over the high pitched whine of the central vac.

Should I submit this to Stuffonmycat.com?

Last night I was teaching myself how to crochet in a circle, and the end result looks like a nipple to me. Zelia was a good sport to model it for us. I have another photo on my blog of ZantiMisterKnit "tweaking" it.

camera ham

Jackson decided to be a ham for the camera last night. I swear this cat actually poses for the camera. The only problem is only holds one position for a quick period of time and I'm not always fast enough. I uploaded pet pictures to a yahoo slideshow. There's a link on the sidebar of my blog if anyone wants to see the rest of the members of the "animal house"

For some reason ever since I put this basket down he digs in it. He ususally doesn't lay down but looks like he searching for gold, or cat nip. I did use to keep my on going knitting projects in here maybe that's what he's looking for.

Somerset, You are not alone.

Kitty in A Bag

Morris climbed inside this bag over the weekend and me, thinking it was Ripple, went scared the living daylights out of him by starting to pick up the bag for a rousing game of "kitty-in-a-bag" and well, he tried to escape. Tore a hole right through the side of the bag and got stuck long enough for me to grab the camera.

He did manage to get out though.

It's a bird...It's a plane...

It's SuperSomerset.

One evening when she was snuggling in her nest (amongst the grocery bags in the pantry), she managed to get her front paws and head through the handle of a grocery bag. Since she has a bit of a pooch, the bag wouldn't travel any further along.

It's quite amusing when this happens, because she thinks that the bag is chasing her, and even if she runs as fast as her little legs can take her, she can't escape it. But it gives me the chance to go get the camera...
